Collage - art in a small space
Collage has become my favourite medium since downscaling to a smaller studio space. I create my own hand printed papers, gather ephemera from all around and take additional inspiration from my abstract and mixed media learning and practice.

The Process
So many talented artists, so many styles of art. We all have something to say - some quietly and others loud and challenging. I think our common bond is a strong visual sense and a feeling of compulsion, almost addiction, to express ourselves in images. I resisted my artistic urges for too long and am now catching up.

Some artworks come from my imagination and others can be inspired by what's around me - the sea, the hedgerows, my windowsill or somewhere I've visited. A spark is lit and off I go. It may be mixed media - acrylics or water colour - or a cyanotype print using the power of the sun to produce an image on paper.

As a founder member of Maze Art I'm lucky enough to share my creative journey with a group of amazing women I met at art school. We're all very different in our art but similar in our desire to create and learn and share.
